Dr Joanna Mangan (Chinese Medicine)
Vital Acupuncture and Natural Therapies
Reflexology is a unique massage technique using thumb and fingers on the feet and hands. It is based on the principle that the feet and hands contain reflexes that correspond to all the organs, glands and parts of the body. By applying pressure and stimulation to reflex areas, reflexology may benefit a person to:
• Allow balance in the body
• Release physical tension
• Allow better nerve and blood flow
• Supply the body with oxygen and nutrients.
Joanna will use a variety of styles often combining lighter and firm methods that suit the patient’s individual needs and level of sensitivity of the feet. With a main focus on the feet, the patient will likely feel relaxed and grounded after a session. Reflexology has the added benefit of manual stimulation of all the acupoints (points commonly used in acupuncture/ acupressure) of the hands and feet.
Prevention of illness is as important as restoring and maintaining health. The use of Chinese medicine and reflexology can assist you to make appropriate changes to prevent onset or progression of illness, enhance your body’s resistance, and to be in control of your own health.
